⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Kohl’s Resort isn’t just a vacation spot — it’s part of our family story. We’ve been coming here for years, and every trip feels like stepping back into a place where time slows down and joy lives in the little things. This year, we almost didn’t make it, but we were lucky enough to sneak in a week, and it reminded us why this place means so much. From the familiar laughter on the docks to the warmth of the staff who feel like lifelong friends, every moment here feels like coming home. The lodging is cozy, the activities bring out the kid in all of us, and the memories we make here stay with us long after we leave. Thank you, Kohl’s Resort, for being the place where our hearts always return.
We had the best stay at Kohl’s Resort in Bemidji. It was a beautiful weekend on Big Turtle Lake. It is family run with great amenities. We visit our family close by. So nice to have a lovely stay and visit those we love.
Pretty solid place. Cabins and rooms are a bit dated, but not terribly. The drive into the sides is very nice, the lake is nice and calm, and the environment is very peaceful. Has an indoor pool, outdoor hot tub, And not super busy in the fall. We will definitely be coming back!
Amazing stay at Cabin 20! We had the most wonderful experience. The cabin was incredibly spacious, perfect for our family gathering. It had not just one but two whirlpools, which added such a touch of luxury to our stay. The highlight was enjoying the beautiful snowfall outside while staying warm and cozy by the fireplace, it truly felt magical. The cabin provided everything we needed for a relaxing and memorable getaway. The kids enjoyed the indoor pool and games the resort also has to offer. We highly recommend staying here and can't wait to come back!
Amazing place to stay, relax and play. We had a fantastic family trip and the resort had all the things we needed to make our stay comfortable. The kitchen is stocked well, the provided soaps smell amazing (lavender eucalyptus), and they have really fun beach water toys and the pool area is fun for chilly mornings. Cabin 9 was awesome and a great size for our family of 3, which could have easily held another 2 kids. The ice cream in the lodge was delicious plus the food they sell is really great too - pizzas, cheese curds, chicken strips, deep fried pickles, and fried fish were ALL amazing. Tie-dye, the park, and minnow races were a huge hit and made the experience so much more fun. What could they improve on? I wish they offered a few more wash cloths in the room - we only had one. Our toilet seat was a little loose, the shower curtain could be moved down a tiny bit, and I wish they had a small rug by the front door to wipe our shoes, they have beautiful living room rugs I would hate to see ruined. That is really all I have for improvements. We had an amazing time.
This is our second time at Kohl’s within a three year period you have made some great improvements since then putting the bar down at the beach having activities at the beach and behind the lodge no matter the age we were in two cabins from 11 up to 73 and there was activities and fun for all. We booked for next year we loved it so much thank you to all of the staff. The girls that ran the social hours in the afternoon. They were the best.
Quiet little spot north of Bemidji. If you are looking for that, this is your place! They had a beautiful beach and lots of toys for the kids but it was a cold weekend we were there. The pool was warm, so that's a plus. There were plenty of board games in the pool area too. The mini golf was difficult to find but maybe we didn't see any signs? We asked a staff member and she led us there. The cabin (#4) was comfortable and quiet. Not a lot of cooking pans and 2 people in the kitchen was tight. We are a family of 6 so 2 or 3 people could be just fine. Hot water runs out quick so assuming little hot water heater. Staff was friendly and text messages on how the stay was going was a nice touch. Overall, you will enjoy your stay here!
